Pierce-Arrow Estate

This historic beachfront home is an original member of the famous Pierce-Arrow Estate. The estate consisted of several houses along Lake Erie's shorefront on Crescent Beach in Fort Erie. Although the estate no longer exists as such many of the homes still do. They are connected to this day by a common walkway stretching the entire length of the private beach.

Our common walkway was modeled after a much larger one formerly located on neighboring Waverly Beach at what was the then flourishing Erie Beach
Park (http://cec.chebucto.org/ClosPark/ErieBech.html). The park was home to an enormous star lit dance floor and what had been the world's largest outdoor swimming pool. Every now and then we like to go across the street so that we can get on The Friendship Trail (http://www.friendshiptrail.forterie.ca/home.html) and ride our bikes down to explore the old ruins.

Today, the homes in and around the former Pierce-Arrow Estate belong to The Crescent Beach Homeowners Association of Ontario. The Association establishes and enforces policy consistent with preserving the area and keeping the beach private.

The beach is perhaps as nice as any in all of Canada. The sand is soft and white. The water is clean and clear. The underwater slope is so gradual toddlers can crawl 20 yards into Lake Erie. You can even wade to some of Lake Erie's finer bass fishing spots. The bay is perfect for boating and water sports of all kinds. As evidenced in the pictures, one can easily mistake Crescent Beach for the Caribbean.
