- To our dismay but to the elation of countless others, Swift Current City Council has endorsed the development of a $25 million Performing Arts, Convention Centre and Casino for Swift Current. Construction recently began in May of 2007.
- Another project under construction is a new $15 million wastewater treatment plant for Swift Current. The plant will have the capacity to meet the needs of Swift Current even if the population swells to 25,000 people.
